Barcode Options
The ability to control your inventory with accuracy and speed is best achieved using barcode technology. PC-TOOLCRIB includes all of the software features needed to print Code39 barcoded labels for tools, serial tools, and Issue ID's.(employee#, machine, department, etc.) to any standard inkjet or laser printer. You do not need a barcode printer, but if you have special adhesive or label needs, SY-CON can provide the correct barcode printer and label stock that will work with PC-TOOLCRIB.
Tool labels are normally applied to the tool's storage location or they can be applied directly on a large tool. PC-TOOLCRIB supports multiple standard label stock sizes.

Tool movement into and out of the
toolcrib represents the greatest potential for error. Three types of
barcode reading devices can be used to accuracy record the tool movement
transaction. You can purchase any of these barcode units from SY-CON or one of
our many resellers.
Wedge
Barcode Reader
This type of
barcode reader is directly attached to your PC. It portability is limited
to the length of its cable, but can be used in PC-TOOLCRIB to scan in
information anywhere you would normally type data.
Portable
Data Collection Reader
These units record when you
issue, return, restock or take inventory and save the information in
dual-battery backed memory. The internal software steps you through each
transaction. At some point during the day you place the unit in the docking
station and instruct PC-TOOLCRIB to upload the data from the unit and to update
its database with just a few clicks. Integrated unit with full keypad and 8 line
backlit LCD display. Includes docking station that connects to your PC's
serial port. Docking station charges/conditions spare battery.
